Rebuilding shattered lives of survivors and co-workers affected by line of duty deaths, through partnerships with law enforcement and the community.

C.O.P.S. was organized in 1984 with 110 individual members.  Today C.O.P.S. membership is over 37,000 families.  Members include spouses, children, parents, siblings, significant others, and affected co-workers of officers killed in the line of duty according to Federal government criteria.  C.O.P.S. is governed by a National Board of law enforcement survivors.  All programs and services are administered by the National Office in Camdenton, Missouri.  Chapters function in several states at the grass-roots level.

C.O.P.S. programs for survivors include the National Police Survivors' Conference held each May during National Police Week, scholarships, peer-support at the national, state, and local levels, "C.O.P.S. Kids" counseling reimbursement program, the "C.O.P.S. Kids" Summer Camp, "C.O.P.S. Teens" Outward Bound experience for young adults, special retreats for spouses, parents, siblings, adult children, in-laws, and co-workers, trial and parole support, and other assistance programs.

C.O.P.S. knows that a survivor's level of distress is directly affected by the agency's response to the tragedy.  C.O.P.S., therefore, offers training and assistance to law enforcement agencies nationwide on how to respond to the tragic loss of a member of the law enforcement profession.

C.O.P.S. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Tax EIN #68-0459342

You will be contacted via email by the end of the day on September 27th if you got tickets, or if you were placed on the waiting list.  Every year, we have managed to get tickets for most of those that wanted to be on the waiting list, due to people having to sell their tickets.

** We can not hold or reserve tables prior the September 27th **

There has been some questioning why survivors don't get in free to the event, or get priority tickets. While the Black & Blue Ball is an amazing evening of great food, insightful speakers, and friendship, the purpose of the Ball is much larger. The mission of NorCal C.O.P.S. is to support the survivors of line of duty deaths. The Black and Blue Ball is a chance to come together to help raise money for the survivors. Through ticket sales and the silent auction, the Black & Blue Ball will generate support that will allow survivors to participate in Hands on Programs and National Police Week.
